Detecting if a point in space is within a non-rectangular element

Is there a script or function that can check whether a point in the simulation is within a non-rectangular element (cylinder, ring, triangle, polygon, custom...)? Could this be implemented?

    Hello @NLev ,

There is an "inpoly" command that can be used to check if a point is inside a polygon object:

I don't think there are script commands for determining if a point is inside different objects, however. For the other types of objects, if they're simple geometry objects (circles, cylinders, triangles) you could probably come up with a mathematical expression for determining if a point is inside the object. Of course, you could also just create these shapes from polygon objects as well.
